August 9, 2022 – Stouffville, Ontario

With its close proximity to Toronto and over 200 square kilometres of forest, farms and tourist attractions, Whitchurch-Stouffville is commonly referred to as “Country Close to the City.” Community infrastructure is at the heart of local communities, like Whitchurch-Stouffville, bringing together residents and visitors alike, while supporting local businesses, jobs, and economies.

Today, the Honourable Helena Jaczek, Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario) and Member of Parliament for Markham–Stouffville, announced a non-repayable investment of more than $740,000 under the Canada Community Revitalization Fund (CCRF) to the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority to support upgrades to Bruce’s Mill Conservation Park.

This investment will support improvements to Bruce’s Mill Conservation Park, including the installation of two new picnic shelters and the addition of accessible picnic tables, accessibility and safety upgrades to washrooms, and enhancements to park access roads and parking lots. This project will improve the visitor experience by rejuvenating park infrastructure, allowing more people to come together and re-engage with their communities and nature.
